Halloween Parties & How they are becoming so popular for 2016

Halloween Parties

We confess we despair when we hear clients say that they don’t like Halloween and find the whole season a bit of a joke! Kids that have birthdays over the Halloween weekend are often labelled by others as “Halloween Babies” or “unlucky to have birthdays around that period.” Here at CTP we massively disagree. We only wish we could be Halloween Babies as it would give us an excuse to have a Halloween Themed Party EVERY YEAR!
Why is Halloween a great theme for kids? Well it’s mainly because it is different to the norm. There is nothing wrong with a Jedi Party or Princess, Superhero Party but we believe Halloween gives kids and parents a chance to express themselves in a different way with their dress up, make-up, hair and nails etc. We have had boys come as Witches to our Halloween Parties, girls come as Giants or Monsters and babies even dressed up as Pumpkins! Our team LOVE dressing up as something that isn’t a Princess or Superhero and also our team enjoy playing a character that isn’t seen as being perfect…maybe a little closer to who they really are!!

The CTP Party owner’s favourite character is a Witch and she will often be at all the Halloween Parties and Events playing the Witch or Black Cat. It is by far her favourite theme and she just wished she got to do it more!
Sophie recently spoke about their Halloween Themed Parties “The Kids just love the parties and honestly I find the whole theme just loads of fun. From the games we play; the mummy wrap, spell building and the ugly fugly feely box to the costumes and music…I just love Halloween Parties and wish more people booked them…they are SO MUCH fun!”

How can you get more involved in Halloween this year?

If you haven’t already been invited to a Halloween Party this year then why not host one yourself at your house or a local hall or get in touch with some of your children’s friends parents and ask them if they want to co-host one with you! We can host a Halloween Party for up to 30 kids with 1 entertainer and the theme is suitable for 4 – 10 year olds.
If you don’t fancy hosting one yourself…then do not worry we have you covered!

Our Bristol & Berkshire Offices are going to be hosting FREE Halloween Parties on Monday 24th October (Bristol) and Tuesday 25th October (Berkshire) If you are a past client, you just need to ask to get a free invite for your child. If you would like to be invited please contact us on [email protected] to get your child’s name on the guest list! The parties are free to come to but we do take photos and videos on the day so by attending you are granting permission for your child and you to be filmed or photographed by CTP Party. Spaces are limited due to the locations and amount of entertainers we have on site so please ensure you book in early!

Talk Like A Pirate Day – 19th September 2016

Yes believe us…this might just be the weirdest National Day out there but we just love it!! Today (19th September) is National Talk Like A Pirate Day and we have spent the whole day in CTP Party HQ doing exactly that…talking and occasionally walking like a Pirate! This all came about back in 1995 (so the day is as old as CTP Party!) when a game of racquetball resulted in someone reacting to pain with an outburst of “aaaaarrrr!” which if you have ever met our Pirate Pat or Pirate Pete means…ouch!

So here we are thinking about how amazing it would be to talk, dress and act like a Pirate every day! We know some children who we have met recently at parties who would LOVE to be just like a Pirate and have had countless Pirate parties again and again year after year!

If your child is into Pirates in a big way then why not host a Pirate (and Fairy or Mermaid) party this year and get one of our friendly Pirates round to host the party! We take the kids on a wild journey searching for lost treasure, across the ocean on an old pirates ship! The kids win loads of prizes, stickers and sweets and the birthday child even gets a special birthday gift from us!

Here are some photos which clients have sent us in from over the years of their little pirates with our party pirate entertainer!

Joint Birthday Parties…why they’re a great idea!

We now host over 30% of our parties for Joint Families who have decided to spread the cost of their child’s party with a friend. Ideal for mixed themed parties and for kids who are inseparable! Read all bout our reasons for why we think Joint Birthday Parties for kids make complete sense on our CTP Exposure Page!

Theme your party for everyone to enjoy, so instead of having just a fabulous Princess party, make it a Princess and Superhero or Knight party, or an Under the Sea party – so the kids can come as a variety of things, Mermaids, Pirates, Jellyfish or if they want a Parrot! Our new Survival Parties are a great new theme for boys and girls and ideal for more than one birthday child as well as a Sports Day Party or Olympic Themed Party! Birthday Party Themes can be adapted to suit just about anything so if your children want a Princess / Zombie party…there is no reason why they shouldn’t get one (this is actually a party theme we hosted recently!!)

Also when you split the cost, you are probably more willing to add a few extras into the party, to make it just that little bit more special. Or, grab some of the mums some Prosecco so you can enjoy the party with them too…! Organising parties can be more stressful than you’re hoping for, so get on board with another mum, and starting enjoying the planning process rather than dreading it this year!

Summer…what Summer?

We haven’t really had a Summer in the UK yet so there haven’t really been any Summer Kids Parties set up for the outdoors however we have our fingers and toes crossed here at CTP Party that we can finally start hosting some party games outdoors soon! We are hoping for a hot August and to celebrate our Bristol Team are offering a special 10% discount off any party booked for during August 2016.

Check out our new Exposure post about Summer Parties and some insider knowledge of Summer Parties from our Bristol Manager, Mallory!

Whether it is a Princess, Superhero, Fairy or Ninja party you are after we have you covered and we can host the party in your garden or indoors..its up to you (and the weather!)

Summer Parties…What Themes suit the outdoors?

Please check out our new blog post on the CTP Party Exposure Page for more information on what parties we think will be HOT this Summer!

Not everyone has acres of land or a swimming pool on site to host their summer kids party and we are fully aware that the UK has some of the most unreliable weather forecasts out there! Any party or event for your child is difficult to organise but one in the summer is especially hard…loads of things to think about “Do we host it outside/inside, do we ask Granny if we can use their garden as it is bigger than ours..? Should we run a football party for our son..but will any kids not like football? The list could go on.

Summer themes which we think will be really popular for 2016 are;

Lego (ideal for team building, kids starting a new school in September) and something a little different to your average Superhero/Princess party. Ideal to mix with Lego Ninjago/Lego Star Wars etc. “EVERYTHING will really be Awesome”

Survival/Action Themed Parties – Obstacle Courses, camouflage paint and hiding behind trees…what more can kids ask for?

Olympics Fun – With Rio around the corner we find clients just love an Olympic Family Party with different Olympic Themed Party games for all the kids to join in with!

Football – Kids love specific sporty themed parties. CTP Party get asked a lot for Football Themed Parties with a mix of Football tricks and a little game at the end!

Of course there are many more but the above are just a few which we know clients and kids love. Why don’t you try something different this summer for your little one…

What is the Latest Party Trend? We ask the kids and they say…. Survival

We asked a group of party parents and kids – what’s the latest party trend for the summer?   It’s The Survival Party!!! This theme is great for active kids who enjoy the big outdoors and who want something a bit different to the norm! Loads of crazy activities and action for kids who have loads of energy.  We find that both boys and girls love this theme.

Our Party Host take the kids through a range of challenges to suit the age and number of kids.  There’s a huge range of activities to choose from;  Making a Base,  Tug of War,  Trekking,  Disguise,  Animal Tracks,  Team Games,  Observation Games… Plus your party host will be happy to incorporate any unusual requests your budding survivalist might have!

Why A Pirate & Mermaid Party Theme:

We often get asked by clients what is a good theme for both boys and girls…there are the obvious themes including: Princess & Superheroes or Disco Parties but more often than not children are looking for something a little different. We recently have started hosting a lot more Under The Sea Themed Parties and Mermaid Parties. We have Pirates, Mermaids & Pirate Princesses who are all very popular characters with children aged from 3 – 9 years old. Our team play traditional themed games such as Mermaid Secrets, The Pirates Treasure Hunt and Musical Mermaid Bumps along with some role-play!

A Pirate or Mermaid party is a great way of having fun! Boys, Girls and parents seem to love the theme. Ideal Pirate party games include Walk The Plank, A Treasure Hunt, Tug of War and Sleeping Sharks! Prizes can be anything from medals to a collection of gold coins! Meet our Bristol CTP Party Franchisee

Meet a CTP Party Franchise Owner – Mallory

Bristol CTP Party Owner

Hi there, my name is Mallory and who knew I had a passion for entertaining kids! I certainly didn’t. Ive always worked with fun people, but generally have been within the events industry or behind a desk planning such events. It wasn’t until I realised I had little progression to make where I was that I decided to see what CTP was all about and try become my own boss! I trained as an entertainer and got the ground work under my belt, spent a few days with other franchisee’s and of course discussed the whole thing with Sophie as a franchisor.
I have built my business up alongside a full time job, then reducing it to part time and now making CTP full time. There is lots of progress to go and I’m currently working lots of weekends, but I’m loving every second and the fact I get to build my own little empire in a city I love, doing such a fun, rewarding job I wouldn’t ever want to look back at going behind a desk!
